![]() Isolde, our MC from KBB, is as compelling as ever, and the cast of characters who we had already met are given more to do and we learn more about them, deepening the mystery of who in Adrian and Isolde’s inner circle has betrayed them. The plot of this novel follows on a few weeks from the events from the end of the first book: Isolde, now queen of Revekka, and Adrian are trying to protect their people from Ravena and the increasing trials sent their way from the warring goddesses Dis and Asha. I have a few issues with the overall structure which I will discuss, but if you are a fantasy romance reader who likes a bit of added spice, then I think this is a series – and author! – you should be reading. So I’d say that is a pretty solid indicator that I enjoyed it. I found this to be an extremely readable and fun read: I zipped through this in a day, and have dipped back into it when I wanted to read something to just escape for a moment – it’s Christmastime, and this year film and TV have not cut it for me! Books have been my salvation. ![]() It is a fantasy romance book, set in a fictional world with vampires, werewolves, and other creatures from folklore and myths. ![]() ![]() ![]() Clair – the first in the series is King of Battle and Blood – and was published on 20 December 2022. Queen of Myth and Monsters is the second in what is anticipated to be a trilogy by Scarlett St. ![]()
